EWWR conference & EWWR awards ceremony: Final programme out now!

On 22 May 2014, the EWWR conference as well as the EWWR Awards ceremony will take place in Rome.

The events are embedded in a three days congress “Towards a European Circular Economy”, jointly organised by AICA and ACR+. EWWR conference: Communicating Waste and Resources: Our challenge
The morning session of the EWWR conference will present two roundtable discussions on European projects on sustainable waste management as well as on networking and capitalizing experiences from such projects. In the afternoon, speakers will focus on the role of communication. This includes a session on the results of the EWWR 2013 as well as one on best practices of awareness-raising.

EWWR awards ceremony
In the evening, the European awards ceremony of the European Week for Waste Reduction will take place in the same venue. During this ceremony, the most outstanding actions carried out in the EWWR 2013 will be rewarded. European Commissioner for the Environment, Janez Potočnik, will give a video speech to introduce all participants to the great actions implemented during the EWWR 2013. The finalists and winners have been selected by a Jury of European professionals working in the environmental sector before the event.

ACR+ conference: Zero waste and circular economy: R/Evolution or business as usual?
On 23 May 2014, a half-day ACR+ conference will conclude the congress. This conference will focus on the currently much debates themes of zero waste and circular economy and will circle around the question if these are new concepts or just an old idea in new shoes.
