Let’s Clean Up Europe: let’s go!

Today a Press Release had been issued to encourage all European citizens to take part in the first European Clean Up Day: Let’s Clean Up Europe 2014!

The challenge of cleaning up Europe from littering all together has been taken up. On May 10th 2014, volunteers from all over Europe and beyond will get together to tackle the common challenge of cleaning up Europe from waste littered in their neighbourhood, in natural areas, cities and beaches.

This initiative had been launched in the scope of the European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR) and with the support of European Commissioner for the Environment, Janez Potočnik, but it is fully based on a grassroots movement of environmental enthusiasts from all different kind of background; coming together in the aim to clean up their surroundings from litter.

If you would like to organise a clean-up action in your area or if you would like to find one to participate, please contact your national or regional contact point: ewwr.eu/en/coordinators/lcue

You can find out more about it in the Press Release.

Let’s Clean Up Europe has also been promoted with a Press Release from the European Commission. This Press Release is available in all 28 official EU languages. We invite you to have a look at the European Commission Press Release here.
