New Communication Toolkits online: actions for targeted audiences!

Since the early beginning of the European Week for Waste Reduction in 2009, more than 30.000 awareness-raising actions on waste prevention have been implemented all over Europe and beyond. Drawing from this extensive experience, the EWWR project partners have been developing communication tools for specific target groups that are now available online for download. These tools will help all bodies interested to address these groups more specifically when organising EWWR actions.

The targeted communication toolkits are available in several European languages and are addressed at four target groups:

  1. Citizens
  2. Schools
  3. Businesses
  4. Public Authorities and NGOs

A set of factsheets on specific actions for each category have been developed. In addition to this, several internal actions that apply to several categories have been developed.

The factsheets contain best practices guidelines that will ease the understanding of key messages by each action developers’ target audience on waste prevention, preparing for reuse and recycling. Guidelines give indication on how to identify a successful strategy to engage a specific audience in implementing successful actions during the EWWR+ editions.

In a first stage, these actions will now be tested for the first year in the respective target groups. At the end of the EWWR Life+ project, a complete kit for each of these categories will be available online.
