The EWWR 2014: 12,000 times ‘Thank you!’
The European Week for Waste Reduction 2014 (22 to 30 November 2014) was a great success, with around 12,000 actions implemented all around Europe and beyond the European Union borders. This was only possible because of the commitment and great efforts of Action Developers and Coordinators.
Thank you very much for having implemented action for the EWWR 2014!
But this is just part of the picture: we would also like to warmly thank all the participants in every action: those who planned well in advance to take part in EWWR flash-mobs, exchange markets, workshops, conferences etc. and those who just came across an EWWR event in their city and decided to participate last-minute. Thank you very much for your involvement!
If you are curious about the European Week for Waste Reduction, you can read more about the project, this year’s Coordinators and the Countries in which the EWWR has been implemented in the Press Area online. You will find a Press Release and a complete Press File about this 6th edition, that has taken place under the patronage of Mr Karmenu Vella - European Commissioner for the Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries - and Mr Vytenis Andriukaitis - European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety.
As you may have noticed, also thanks to your action, the European Week for Waste Reduction is becoming more and more known everywhere and it is easy to read something related to this project. If you find an article mentioning the European Week for Waste Reduction in your local newspaper or in a website you visit, do not hesitate to send the EWWR Secretariat (firstname.lastname@example.org) the link or the scanned document of that news!
Even after the EWWR, your feedback is very valuable to us in order to better shape the next editions of this project according to your reactions. The evolution of awareness and quantification of actions (in terms of participants, weight of the waste prevented or sorted, reused, etc.) has a central place in the evaluation. If you have taken part in the EWWR 2014 as an Action Developer, we ask you to complete a brief evaluation of this experience. For this purpose, an online evaluation form available in several languages has been set up.
The questionnaire is available here.
