The EWWR Bulletin 6

The big family of the European Week for Waste Reduction

The big family of the European Week for Waste Reduction

Since the beginning of the project the European Week for Waste Reduction has grown bigger and bigger! All this thanks to all the wonderful people involved, namely EWWR Coordinators, Action Developers and of course the participants coming from all over Europe but also beyond! We rely on them to implement wonderful actions to raise awareness on waste reduction, reuse and recycling during one week! Getting our message to as many people as possible is our mission!
But who are they and how was all this possible?

Every year the EWWR Secretariat encourages more countries to join the initiative and spread the good practices. In 2015, the EWWR was represented by 40 coordinators in 33 countries! We believe in the potential that local, regional and national authorities can have in the field of waste management, especially in their abilities to disseminate information, give positive examples and enable more actions to further build an aware community.

We rely on them, the Coordinators, to represent and promote the EWWR in territories all around Europe but also beyond. Thanks to our conscious Action Developers who have worked hard to organise awareness raising actions to draw attention to the 3Rs: More than 12,000 actions took place only in 2015! Read more about the last EWWR edition in our Press File.

The European Week for Waste Reduction gathers many countries and not only in Europe. This year we warmly welcome our newest Coordinators which are the Ministries of the environment of Albania, Lithuania, Cyprus and Czech Republic and more regional coordinators in Spain, namely Consell de Mallorca, and Resinorte in Portugal! They are joining the multicultural and multilingual EWWR family.

Join us and register your action on www.ewwr.eu! Together, we can reach even more territories.
